David Černý is a graduate of the Glass Studio at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague. He spent his internships abroad in the Netherlands and participated in several Czech and international exhibitions. The last one was the Transparency of Colours exhibition in Lommel, Belgium.
Glass artist David Černý’s works emerge from a kind of twilight, attracting our attention, demanding a deeper examination, and offering countless surprises. Observers are able to look directly into the neon lighting; it is pleasant on the eyes; at the same time, it shimmers gently, creating a sense of mysteriousness and etherealness, perhaps even of a transmutation into something alive. In creating such three-dimensional compositions that utilise a unique and captivating form of lighting David Černý continues to demonstrate his prowess as a highly individualistic and original contemporary glass artist.
