“I paint abstract landscapes where everything is allowed. I give vent to my inner eye, my inner self, expressive and untamed. The combination of all these aspects and materials transforms the surfaces of the paintings into vases that make them three-dimensional. They are an accident and an intention.” Zuzana Kubelková (*1987) is a graduate of Ilja Bílek’s renowned Glass Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design, J. E. Purkyně University (UJEP) in Ústí nad Labem. Her art represents the essence of glass art experimentation, rooted in an endless search for the new opportunities associated with this material. Which means interpreting the concept of form in a pioneering new manner, finding ways to integrate glass with non-traditional materials, and utilising groundbreaking technologies to craft the finished product. In this sense, abstract artworks examine the nature of physical strength, including such themes as incursion and destruction; performative kinetic works examine chemical crystal growth processes; and opportunities are sought to process fragile glass textiles for the creation of wearable masks and abstract vases.
Její nejnovější série autorských váz a objektů s názvem Frozen Landscape navazuje na předchozí experimentální série Sui Generis a El Cuco, v rámci kterých zkoumala možnosti použití transparentních skleněných a tmavých čedičových textilií. Projekt je inspirován sérií abstraktních obrazů kombinujících akrylovou barvu s měkkým pastelem, které jsou rovněž součástí expozice. Téma a obsah nástěnných obrazů autorka přenesla do 3D objektů, ve kterých jsou tahy a linie čedičové textilie na povrchu skla pomyslnými tahy pastelem na povrchu obrazů. Vystavené vázy jsou vytvořeny technikou švédského přejímaného skla. Při tavení je čedičová textilie pevnější než sklo a udržuje si svou formu určitého pásu objímajícího a utahujícího objem vázy. Tekuté sklo s vrstvou barvy pak dokáže vlákenným rastrem textilie proniknout a na povrchu vázy vytvořit abstraktní kresbu. Zuzana Kubelková je neúnavnou experimentátorkou, která ve své práci ohledává limity a vytváří škálu tektonických tvarů, které zdánlivě působí, že jsou neustále v pohybu. Výstava Inter Alia je tedy pokračováním tohoto procesu hledání, je letmým nahlédnutím k tvůrčím hranicím, které nám sklo jako umělecký materiál umožňuje. Ján Gajdušek, kurátor výstavy
