Eva Eisler (*1952) is a Czech designer, artist and teacher, known for her minimalist approach and timeless jewellery. Her work moves on the border between applied and free art, placing emphasis on purity of line, sustainability of material and the union of aesthetics and function. She draws inspiration from architecture, geometry and nature, which is reflected in her ability to elevate jewellery into a sculptural object.
After years spent in the United States, where she built an international reputation, she returned to the Czech Republic in the 1990s. Here, until 2023, she led the K.O.V. studio at UMPRUM, where she “raised” a number of innovative designers. Her works are part of prestigious international collections, for example MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Eva Eisler is considered one of the key figures of contemporary design and jewellery, whose work crosses the boundaries of time and categories.
