Pavlína Šváchová

A glass and intermedia artist who combines traditional glassmaking techniques with experimentation, spatial drawing, and research into the relationship between material, line, and space.

Pavlína Šváchová (born 1997, Benátky nad Jizerou) is a glass and intermedia artist working at the intersection of fine art and design. Her work bridges traditional glassmaking techniques with an experimental approach, focusing on the long-term exploration of the relationship between material, line, and space. Her interdisciplinary approach was shaped by her studies in jewelry, glass, and intermedia.

In her doctoral research at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, she focuses on lampworking, specifically its linear potential and possibilities for contemporary artistic expression. She evolves this traditional technology, typically associated with the production of small figurines, toward spatial drawing and intermedia installations.

Her work has been presented at numerous international exhibitions, and she is a multiple recipient of the Czech Design Award. In addition to her individual practice, she is a co-founder of the art collective Dveperly, which uses humor and exaggeration to reflect on social issues.
