
František Jungvirt (*1996) is a glass artist, designer and glass painter. He studied the artistic-craft processing of glass with a focus on glass painting in Třeboň, and the Glass Studio at UMPRUM under Rony Plesl. In his work he builds on the tradition of Czech glassmaking, which he develops with a contemporary language, vivid colour, play with form and hand-painted decoration.
Alongside his own objects, vases, installations and limited series, he served as art director of the glass brand Klimchi. His work has been presented at numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, among others at Milan Design Week, Maison&Objet in Paris, Designblok and the exhibition Made by Fire at the Milan Triennale. He is represented in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Moravian Gallery in Brno and the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, and has received several awards, including the Josef Hlávka Prize, the BIG SEE Product Design Award and a place in the Forbes 30 Under 30 selection.
