Tomáš Plesl was born on July 15, 1974, in Jablonec nad Nisou, and his natural path to an art education led him to the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod. Between 1992 and 1998, he studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the studios of Prof. Marian Karel and Prof. Vladimír Kopecký. He has worked as an art educator at the Secondary School of Applied Arts and the Higher Vocational School in Jablonec nad Nisou, and he currently leads the technical-decorative glass and glass figurine department at the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod. He lives and works in his studio in Chlístov. He is intensely dedicated to painting, drawing inspiration from reality, which he then significantly abstracts into distinct visual symbols.
His work is represented in both Czech and international public and private collections. He regularly participates in solo and group exhibitions.
