Barbora Tydlitátová (*1992) is a glass artist working in the Železný Brod region, who in her work connects historical glassmaking traditions with questions of sustainability and the future of materials. Her work reflects the relationship between the landscape and the glassmaking relics that remain in it as traces of the past. She uses the method of sintering – the fusing of glass waste – to create new objects, “gems of the future”, which move on the boundary of art, nature and history. Her works are not only an aesthetic expression but also a reflection on how our material culture affects the environment in which we live.
Tydlitátová graduated in glass design at the Technical University in Liberec and the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod. Alongside her own work she teaches in the cutting studio at the glass school in Železný Brod and previously worked as a material consultant at matériO Prague. Her work has been presented at exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including the prestigious TALENTE showcase in Munich. In 2024 she received the Preciosa Foundation award for her diploma project, which deals with the transformation of glass waste into new artistic objects.
