OBJEKTY

Ilja Bílek is one of the important representatives of Czech Modernism, whose works are represented in both foreign and domestic collections of contemporary art. He is also a respected teacher who has influenced several generations of postmodernist glassmakers since the 1990s, and in 2010 he received the Rector’s Award for artistic activity. In his work, Bílek works with the contrast of materials, shapes and colours. He draws on the principles of nature, architecture and sculpture. In his sculptures, the author deals with the composition of spatial segments made of fused or plate glass.
